ABSTRACT

The inhibition of corrosion of zinc in sulphuric acid by aromatic amines: aniline, otoluidine and p-toluidine has been studied with respect to acid concentration, inhibitor concentration and temperature. The inhibition efficiency of aromatic amines increased as the concentration of the acid and temperature decreased while increased as the inhibitor concentration increased. Weight loss data at different contact times and temperature were used to determine the inhibition efficiency and corrosion rale. The inhibition efficiency follows thus: p-toluidine > aniline > o-toluidine,
