ABSTRACT
The work here is to find the potential in a slot governed by a boundary value problem for the Poisson equation. Neither the method of operation of variables nor the method of Laplace transform could be used because of the nature of the boundary conditions. The method of finite Fourier sine transform was used to obtain a solution, which satisfied the required conditions. The solution as the height of the slot grows to infinity was studied in a graph.
