Abstract

The study focused on the impact af pa/icy formulation as a taal for ensuring organizational effectiveness. The mai11 ubjeef ive oft he study is to assess the impact of policy formulation as a tool for ensuring organizational effectiveness. The specific objectives are to: Identify the extent (o which policy formulation aids in the attainment of corporate goal; determine the impact O] policy formulation on Organizational effectiveness; identify the causes of poll) implemenfutiun dij]iculties in Guinness Nigeria Pie Aba; identi}j, the different policy monitoring mechanisms established by Guinness Nigerian Pie. Sample size of JOO was ascertained through the administration of we/I-structured questionnaire (5 point likert scale). Descriprive sraristics was employed to analyze individual objectives, regression test hypothesis · 1& 2 and chi-square tested hypothesis 3 & 4. Empirical findings revealed F = 3. 923£3 > pvalue which revealed that policy formulation has a significant effect on corporale goal in Guinness Nigeria Ple under study. Hypothesis 2 revealed F= 319.690> p value whlChl , indicated that policy formulation has significanl impact on organizational effectiveness in Guinness Nigeria Pie under study. Hypothesis 3 and 4 was tested via Chis-square Pearson lest significance asymptotic Significance (2-sided) < 0.05. Which suggests thaf the assacialian btween two variables isjstatistically significant if Therefore hypothesis 3 revealed \ow level of employment; technolbgical changes caused policy implementation difficulties in the organization. (it was not 'due to chance).This led to the acceptance of the alternate hypo!leS> Iha/ low level of e mployment; technological change cause policy implementation difficulties. In conclusion, it wos observed that policy JiJrn111/a1ion and implementation is a very iediaus process that requires a careful and crilical analysis before ii is embarked upon. Findings showed tho/ causes of policy implementation are inherenl in 1he organizalion. II was 1herefore recommended that political factors and technological factors which contributes to poor governance, socio-political "U economic problems must be addressed. To ensure that policy formulation served as a verilable tool for organizational effectiveness.
