ABSTRACT

 This research is based on the topic finding out the impact of audit committee function on corporate performance. The rationale for the adoption of audit committee both historically and in the recent past years has been linked to the issue of audit committee members' independence. The population of this study consisted of audit committee in cornerstone Insurance PLC and sample is drawn from the upper and lower management. In this research work, there are objectives set to be achieved include; To examine the impact of audit of audit committee function on the integrity of the financial statement of the company. ii) To know if audit committee function enhances compliance with the legal requirement. Data were sourced from the primary and secondary sources and analyzed using the chi-square statistics. This revealed that corporate businesses and non-profit making organizations were advised to adopt an organized audit committee and recommendations were made.
