Impact Of Accounting System In The Performance Of Small And Medium Scale Industries (A Study Of Selected Firms In Umuahia)

ABSTRACT

This study has investigated the impact of accounting system on the performance of small and medium scale business enterprises in Umuahia. The study, based on the convenience, chose Umuahia and its environs as a basis for sampling. In other words, a total of hundred respondents segmented into three (owners, managers and staff) were selected and questiormaires administered. Out of the hundred respondents only eighty satisfied the criterion of acceptance and were subsequently tested using the Chi-square technique. All the hypothesis stated were positive and statistically significant. It was recommended among others that small and medium scale business owners (old and intending ones) should be sensitized on the importance of keeping accounting system for effective business management
