Financial Planning And Control In Media Outfits (A Study Of Selected Media Outfits)

ABSTRACT

 The study focuses on the effect of financial planning and control in media outfit with reference to three media outfit namely, Nigeria Television Authority, Ak"wa, Anambra Broadcasting Service and Silver Bird Television. The main objective was to evaluate the existing system offluancial planning and control and its role in improving the financial performance of media out/Its and to analyze the budgetary control system practiced by media outfits. Primary data was' used and source from staff and management offinancial department. The study explored simple regression model to test the data. Result of the simple regression shows that financial planning and control has signtficant and positive effect on management performance in medial out/it. financial performance analysis has signtfIcant and positive effect on strength and opportuni/ic.s' oJ'inedia outfits and budget control system has no significant effect on fInancial per/brmance of media outfits. It was recommended that effort should be made by the management of/he media outfit to draw up a proper and efficient budget control system in the organization.
