Financial Control And Accountability In Public Sector Organization In Nigeria (A Study Of Ministry Of Finance Umuahia)

ABSTRACT

 The study evaluates the financial control and accounting in public sector organization. The study was conducted in Abia state with the reference to the ministry offinance in Abia state. Primary data obtained from the administration of questionnaire was analyzed using descriptive statistics such frequency/ percentage, and correlation coefficient. The empirical result revealed that there is no efficiency and effectiveness in the ministry on generating revenue internally, also there is no proper accountability on public sector organization in Nigeria and there is relationship between utilization of acquired funds and provision of services in ministry offinance in Abia state, Nigeria. It was recommended that management of ministry offinance should set up an audit committee, to audit fund allocated to the ministry and determine how it's being used to promote the growth of the ministry.
