Effect Of Financial Planning And Control In A Selected Firm (Study Of P Z Company)

ABSTRACT

 The research work "The effect of financial planning and control in a selected firm with a case study of PZ Cussons at Aba" aimed at determining whether the use of financial planning and control contributes to the profitability of a firm. During the investigation process, it examined the effect that financial planning and control bore on the profitability of affirm. In the study, the researcher made use of survey research design which involves the use of questionnaire, interview and observations in eliciting relevant information from the respondents as regards the study. In the analysis of the data collected, the analysis of variance (ANO VA) was used to analyze the responses gathered. The results of the study reported that although financial planning and control plays a major role in firms, most small and medium scale enterprises in Nigeria do not apply it hence; they do not plan ahead and only deal with events as they occur. It therefore seems that there exist a wide gap between what theories postulate and their application by the Nigerian business. Majority of the respondents view about its effect were so poor and negative due to ignorance thereby making it insignificant. Hence, awareness should be created about its importance and effects.
