ABSTRACT

This study was carried out to evaluate the effect of aqueous leaves extract of Loranthus micranthus on oral chronic administration of Coartem on the liver of male wistar rats. Acute toxicity study of the extract was evaluated but no death was recorded even at 5000mg/kg. Sixteen (16) male wistar rats were used and they were divided randomly into four groups. Group 1 served as the normal control, Group 2 received only aqueous leaves extract of Loranthus micranthus (150mg/kg), Group 3 received coartem only (27mg/kg) and Group 4 received coartem (27mg/kg) and the aqueous leaves extract of Loranthus micranthu (150mg/kg).
